Hi all,
I'm having trouble trying to find shipping rates to Japan where I can input the size of my packages and get an accurate quote to give to my customer.
Anybody shipped there before and have any advice? I have found the postal service works better than UPS or the others when shipping to the UK, but I'm stuck with Japan. Otherwise I'll wait until Monday to speak to a human at the various shipping agencies.

While I'm on the subject, do any of you hold export licenses for shipping overseas? I wasn't sure what the criteria was for needing such a license, and don't want to get myself into the middle of some mess.

Thanks!
Craig

Craig the link below should work. Click on international postage and then select Japan as the country. I have shipped several orders there with no problem.

You can ship through the Post office. usps.com . Ad 15% to the quote they give you as they are often light.
You don't need a lisence yet.

I would go with USPS too. 1 guitar and case should ship for around $120-$150 for EMS speedpost with tracking!

USPS insurance claims are a NIGHTMARE to collect on. I had to threaten legal litigation on both acounts and it took 9 months + to collect on each.
